Bitumen, also known as asphalt, is a sticky, black and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. Thanks to its waterproofing qualities, it is widely used in construction. Bituminous membranes are perfect for waterproofing roofs, basements, below-ground structures, bridges and other structures. It is a plastomeric type waterproofing membrane produced from modified bitumen reinforced with APP (atactic polypropylene). It is produced with fiberglass and polyester felt too. It does not melt or flow in hot weather conditions, it does not crack or break in cold weather conditions.
