Argon Kimya was established in 1965 in order to produce industrial detergents. During the next ten years, as a result of the continuious market research and growth objectives, Argon Kimya started to produce textile auxiliaries for the textile industry and softening oils for the leather industry.
• In 1976, Argon moved its facilities to its current location and constructed a robust
infrastructure. With the acquisition of highly developed machines, Argon Kimya was able to achieve a higher output of products which led to an increase in the production capacity of the company. Moreover, the quality of Argon's products was continously improving.
• In 1980, in order to expand its market share and product line, Argon has started to produce polymer dispersions. As a result, Argon began producing chemical specialties for the textile, paint, construcion, water treatment, carpet, paper and furniture industries.
• In 1992, Argon has restructured itself and by acquiring new technologies, it has become a leading chemical product manufacturer in Turkey.
• In 1998, the production of synthetic thickeners, which were by then produced by only three companies worldwide, has commenced which enabled Argon to gain a large market share in the foreign markets as well as in the local market.
• In 2003, the representative office of Argon Kimya in Shanghai has been established in order for Argon to penetrate the Chinese market.
• In 2005, Argon Kimya has decided to take a step forward to strengthen its position in the marketplace .Thus, Argon Chemistry and Trading Company with 100% Argon’s capital investment at the Pudong New Area Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, Shanghai has been formed. It is expected to be operational in October 2005.
