With a merchant background from the recycling industry, Aage Kragmann established the company in 1973, with the scrapping of tractors, the sale of spare parts, and the purchase and sale of machines across national borders as primary business areas. Allis-Chalmers, Bukh, David Brown, Fordson, Hanomag, Nuffield, Porsche–Allgaier and Volvo Bolinder-Munktell tractors were found at the company's scrap
yard - tractors that would all have a great value among collectors today.
In 1975, the company became an importer of the Swedish-produced HARA cabins for Ford tractors and Fernmo cabins for MF tractors. The cabins were, in connection with new Danish regulations on crash protection and the farmer's desire for better comfort, sold primarily to Danish MF and Ford dealers, for installation on MF's 100 line (135-188) and Ford's 1000 line (2000-5000).
From the end of the 70s until the end of the 90s, the company grew primarily with bulk exports of used tractors to Far Eastern markets and the USA, peaking in 1996 when a total of more than 1200 tractors or over 100 per month were exported, primarily to Thailand, Malaysia, the USA and the Middle East . Ironically, many of the originally sold tractor cabins are dismantled and scrapped in connection with this export.
As part of a diversification process, the country's first independent major agricultural machinery workshop was established in 1997 with several out-going service vehicles. At the same time, a professional and well-regarded workshop helped with the growing import of used machinery from abroad for sale to Danish agriculture and machine dealers, and the foundation was created for the import and retail sale of used capital-intensive agricultural machinery such as self-propelled beet harvesters, combines and articulated and tracked tractors.
Today, Kragmann A/S is one of the largest machine shops on Funen and in Denmark as a whole, with a focus on the sale of capital-intensive agricultural machinery such as combine harvesters. We are also a full-line dealer of New Holland and Kverneland's broad programs of agricultural and construction machinery, with sales, service and maintenance of tractors, harvesters, construction machinery, implements, sprayers and grass machines. Furthermore, the company is an importer of REM and continues to dismantle and sell used and refurbished spare parts to dealers and end users.
The customer base is agriculture, contractors, municipalities and companies within gardens/parks.
