A Brass Reducer is attached to the body. The purpose of this nut is to compress the ferrule as it is constricted and seal the joint. Wrap the brass fittings in Teflon tape and press them into the threading to stop them from leaking water. Brass Reducer is a pipe fitting that is used in process piping to reduce the pipe size from a bigger bore to a smaller bore (inner diameter).
