Foundation of the company
1959 the IMISK company was founded in Turkey by Mr. Ibrahim Miskavi under his own name. The main activities at that time were the export and import of citrus, timber, paper, jute, dry vegetables, and raw cotton.
Focus on raw cotton exports
1971 the company increased its focus on raw cotton exports, and became one of the leaders in this field.
1976 the company started forwarding activities with transport from Turkish ports to the Middle East, particularly Iraq with a concentration on project cargoes.
1987 the company is incorporated under the name of Imisk A.Ş.
1989 the company built its first warehouse in the Mersin Free Zone, and commenced its warehousing and distribution activities.
Expansion into CIS countries.
1991 with the disintegration of the Soviet Union, the Company expanded its warehousing and transport services, to CIS with own offices in the region.
1997 a joint venture was formed with Park Holding, the Company leased the Port of Hopa, Turkey for a period of 30 years, and started modernizing and operating the port
Establishment of Misnak Transport
2003 the Group established Misnak Transport which specializes in heavy and oversized cargo transportation in Turkey/Iraq and CIS with own assets.
Acquisition of CABA
2010 The Group acquired CABA, a renowned heavy haul & lifting company in Turkey.
Establishment in Iraq Alak Misk & Misnaf
2010 an affiliated company Alak Misk & Misnaf was established in Iraq. The company receives and organises project cargo shipments from worldwide origins to Umm Qasr and handles all aspects of customs clearance, tax exemption, labeling, tracing, packing, storage and general and heavy lift cargo transportation.
Construction of terminals and warehouse in Basrah
2011 Alak al Misk finalized the construction of its terminal and warehouse.
2013 Misnak Implemented integrated management systems and has been awarded ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 by LRQA.
Dedicated storage area within Umm Qasr Port in Iraq
2013 Alak Misk & Misnaf constructed a major bonded area for project cargo storage and handling in Um Qasr Port.
